Gihan Tubbeh (29), Peru, followed three years on audio-visual communications at University of Lima, before studying photography at Centro de la Imagen, also in the Peruvian capital. Her work has appeared on numerous publications across Peru and the world. Gihan has three solo and numerous group exhibitions. Her work has been exhibited in Spain, China, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Ireland, Brazil, Guatemala, France, the U.S. and Peru. Her work has participated in The DALI Photography Festival in China and the Arles Photography Festival, France. Gihan forms part of Versus Photo, a peruvian collective of photographers whose work has earned international recognition. On 2009, she was one of the twelve photographers who joined the Joop Swart Masterclass of World Press Photo. On 2010, Gihan won the 1st prize in Daily Life stories of the World Press Photo competition. On 2010, she was selected through competition to join Reflexions Masterclass directed by Giorgia Fiorio until 2012. On 2011, Gihan won 1st prize as the Photographer of the Year of the Pictures of the Year International (POYI) LAT. On 2012, Tubbeh participated in two exhibits in the first Biennal of Photography of Lima in Peru. Last year, her work was shown in Actes Sud Atelier during “Les Rencontres d’Arles” festival.
At the moment, Gihan is concluding the preparation of her work for a group exhibition opening on April in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington.
